Jiangxi Yushan afforestation project

     Yushan County is located in the upper reaches of Xinjiang River in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, between 117°52 'E to 118°25' E and 28°30 'N 28°59'N. East to Zhejiang Changshan, Jiangshan, Kaihua three counties (city) border, south to the province of Guangfeng contiguous, north to Dexing city, West to Shangrao Xinzhou District. It is 75 kilometers wide from east to west and 62 kilometers long from south to north. The county covers an area of 1,728 square kilometers. Yushan county mountains for the source of water. To the north, there is Jinshaxi, which originated from Pingjiayuan at the northeast foot of Sanqing Mountain and is one of the main sources of Xinjiang River. Southeast ganxi, Cangxi. After Jinsha Stream and Ganxi merge, Bingxi flows along the county seat to Shili Mountain, and yuya Stream, which originates from Huaiyu Mountain, joins Xinjiang river. Huangjiaxi flows from northwest to southeast into Xinjiang; Gexianxi flows into Shangrao county from Baisha Village, reenters Shangrao through Linhu Town, and flows into Xinjiang from Lingxi in Xinzhou District. Longshou River flows into Jingle River in Dexing; Cheng Xi is a mountain stream river, flow to Huashan into Kaihua county into Wujiang. Eight main rivers in Yushan have a total length of 385.25 kilometers and a basin area of 1600.2 square kilometers.
     Guangzhou Guotan Asset Management Co., Ltd. organized the project owner, Yushan County Forestry Engineering Quality Supervision Center of Jiangxi Province, to organize and implement carbon sink afforestation respectively from 2005 to 2014. The afforestation scale amounted to 150,955 mu (10,063.67 hectares), including 38,479 mu in 2005, 45,651 mu in 2008, 43,329 mu in 2011, and 23,496 mu in 2014.Afforestation tree species are mainly wet pine, ponytail pine, Chinese fir, maple scent, schimb, Chinese toon, paulownia, poplar, camphor and metasequoia. The afforestation activities of the proposed project will begin on 19 February 2005, with a period from 19 February 2005 to 18 February 2025 (inclusive).The proposed project is projected to generate a total of 2,006,218TCO2-E greenhouse gas reductions in the first 20-year accounting period, with an average annual reduction of approximately 100,311 TCO2-E.
